Lesson Plan Templates

Lesson planning is by far one of the most challenging parts of curriculum instruction. Grant Wiggins and Jay McTighe’s book, “Understanding by Design” as well as Tracey Hall, Anne Meyer, and David Rose’s book “Universal Design for Learning in the Classroom” are both great resources for developing a rigorous, differentiated, and purposeful lesson that keep students engaged so they’re learning at their highest potentials.

Below is a downloadable .pdf example of my lesson plan that is broken into two pieces. Each lesson I write will have a Part A – Lesson Overview and Part B – Lesson Standards and Goals. On the curriculum map page visitors may see how each lesson also has a third component that outlines any additional resources that may be called upon and a graphic organizer of the lesson’s goals.

Please make sure to visit the “Books and References” page to share any great literature on learning with other instructors!
