Community Action

Growing up in a small town made it really easy to become an active member of my community. Throughout elementary, middle, and even high school, I had a drive to give back through multiple organizations and am thankful for the memories and relationships that were created. At SUNY Albany as a resident assistant I continued serving communities through a multitude of programs and even earned myself the “Programmer of the Year” award in the department in 2006.
As an educator I would like to continue to pursue opportunities that help me give back to youth in the area and I am committed to helping people who’d like to help an avenue to do so.
This summer I am looking forward to establishing a partnership with Five Below! in Saratoga Springs where 10% of your back to school (and personal) purchases will be donated to two local food pantries.

This fall it is fantasy football season and it will be the inaugural ILoveSocialStudies league. The first 12 people interested in joining the league will have a membership of $50 due and 100% of the money will be put towards 3 children during “Operation Snowflake”, a sponsorship program to assist families in need during the holidays. I will personally be purchasing a custom made trophy and issuing a surprise gift pack to the champion each year!
Photos of the trophy and league registration will begin shortly – feel free to contact me if you are interested whether you are near or far.
